Losing weight is a process that takes time. And our view on how to achieve our weight loss goals keeps us from sticking with them to leave us defeated and without success. To lose weight and keep it off you have to adopt a new, healthy lifestyle that is both affordable and easy to stick with.

Below are eight tips that can be used to melt pounds and kept them off! There is no need to count calories, starve yourself or restrict certain foods. Using the method below you will lose weight consistently and over time you will reach your ideal weight.

Changing mindset. Throw out your “target weight.” Instead of focusing on how much weight you want to lose, take that same energy and direct it towards having a healthier life. Concentrate on how good you look on the “inside” instead of how good you look on the outside. Lasting weight loss occurs when the internal organs are clean, functioning and are well taken care of. Be sure to “look good” on the inside.

Eat as “organic” as possible. Much of the food consumed in these days are the exact reasons why most weight loss prayers go unanswered. Conventional foods are full of pesticides, chemicals and hormones that go directly into our system. Think about it, if the meat you eat is cut from a cow that has been injected with hormones to make it grow faster and bigger, it is inevitable that these hormones will have the same effect on you.

Add a fruit or vegetable with every meal. Even if you eat something really unhealthy add fruits and vegetables will help fill you up faster and give you healthy nutrients that you do not usually get. This helps your body “look good” inside and out.

Start eating at home more. It takes at least 35 minutes to drive, tour, pick up and bring home food from restaurants. So why not take the 35 minutes to prepare the same meal at home? It is healthier because you control the ingredients and portion sizes and you are less prone to bacteria and other yucky things like weirdo’s privy to people’s food in public places (you heard about the blood in ketchup packets… Yuck !!!)

Get physically every day for at least 30 minutes -. 2 of those days shall be low power. It is easy. Walk to the grocery store instead of driving. Go out to play with the kids for 30 minutes or go out salsa dancing. Look at exercise as a part of life, not chore. It is simply the art of moving your body! Make it a lifestyle. Find a workout plan that works for you and stick to it.

Eat when you’re hungry. Not doing so will only make you overeat in the long run. Just be sure when you eat you manage your portion sizes and “treat” you any good now and then, so you do not feel punished or deprived.

If you are not hungry NOT EAT! I know it sounds like common sense, but you would not believe how much we do it. It is easy for us to “snack” even when we are not hungry. This behavior is happy to weigh loss goals. Avoid it at all costs.

Keep a positive mindset about your current body. Stop yourself every time you think or say anything negative about your weight, eating habits and body. If you happen to slip up, counteract that negative thought or statement with a positive one (high). We must love our current body to achieve our goals.

Remember that prolonged weight loss does not happen overnight. Think of the story of the Tortoise and the Hare, slow and steady wins the race. Sustained weight loss comes from, change your unhealthy habits for newer, healthier ones and by following these simple steps you will reach your goal without restriction, pain, and suffering from a diet.
