So you’ve heard about all the damage that Hydroxycut can do for poor consumers trying to balance his weight, right?
Did you know that hydroxycitric (HCA) acid found naturally in a simple tropical plant used to make a refreshing tea in many traditional cultures? This is the same acid which was produced chemically in laboratories to create hydroxycut but the natural source is safe, healthy, and a million times more beneficial to the body.
Hibiscus tea affect how we absorb fats and carbohydrates because it contains Phaseolamin, a powerful inhibitor that blocks amylase, the enzyme responsible for breaking down fats and carbohydrates. This enzyme inhibitor works the same way as the pharmacy pill versions but remains in its natural, unadulterated form and are much safer and more beneficial to the body than laboratory-produced concoctions. Incidentally, the same kind of amylase inhibitors found in beans and other difficult to digest legumes, so eating beans! 😉
In addition to blocking the absorption of sugar, this traditional tea has cleansing and anti-bloating properties, helps the body get rid of excess fluid and therefore further contributes to weight loss, especially in premenstrual and menopausal women.
Hibiscus tea is caffeine-free and has a high vitamin C content, it has a bright red color and a tart cranberry-like flavor, it’s like natures Kool-assistant, but way way better for you. Hibiscus tea is also known to lower cholesterol and blood pressure.
You can find dried loose flowers in most stores nature, and some brands even market hibiscus tea bags. It is inexpensive (no more than $ 20 per pound here in NY, and a full pound will last eaons) and can also be added to the loose green or black tea for an extra flavor.
4.3 Dried Hibiscus Flowers (found in most health food stores in bulk or tea sections)
. 2 cups freshly boiled water.
natural sweetener aftertaste.
a desire to lose a few pounds this summer ;-).
Steep 3-4 dried flowers in about 16oz of fresh boiled water for 5 minutes.
Let the tea cool and drink warm or chill in the refrigerator for a very nice post workout post-cookout post-work drink any time of day.
It is so great in the summer as a refreshing drink afternoon, but using it medicinally for cholesterol or weight loss management, I suggest you have three cups a day, one hour after each meal.
Tips and Warnings
HCA is not a good idea on low carb dieting (which is a crap idea anyhow) but it helps weight loss when used with a healthy program of overall calorie restriction to reduce the consumption of carbohydrates, protein and fat like.
