situational depression is also commonly called adjustment disorder. it is a kind of depression that often caused by experiences in a person’s life. For example, a person may develop situational depression after the death of a family member or learn they have a serious illness. severity of situational depression will generally vary depending on the event that brought it, and recovery times can vary also. sometimes professional treatment may be useful for situational depression, but it isn ‘t necessarily required in each case, and people will often adjust on their own eventually.

as regards symptoms, situational depression relatively similar to other types of depression. people may find themselves crying a lot, and they can lose appetite. sometimes one could find it impossible to enjoy things that were previously pleasurable, and they can be temporarily give up on important parts of their lives. right after the event that causes a bout of situational depression, the symptoms will usually be at its most severe, and then gradually begin to improve.
