Wow. I can honestly say I wasn’t expecting to lose any weight this week. I did not track my food at all last week. I would start and then just never finish out the day. So I really had no clue of the calories I was eating. Also the only exercise that I did last week was my runs for C25K. So I figured that since I dropped from 6 days a week of exercise to 3 days that my body would definitely just stay the same. I obviously proved my own theories wrong. Yippee
My weekend went well. I worked a double Saturday/Sunday so after Saturday at 2am til about Sunday at 8pm is kind of a blur. Tony and I finished C25K week 2 day 3 Saturday. We were trying to go to a specific park so the boys could ride their bikes but it closed at dusk so we decided to head to castle island in south Boston.

This is our summer time spot. It’s great to walk/run around or just to hang out. They have a cool little walk up restaurant called Sully’s (Sullivan’s to the non-locals) that has the best greasy food ever! I mean seriously I think they put crack in their cheeseburgers because they are so addicting.
**Side note Cool little history lesson about castle island: Fort Independence is located on castle island. The fort was renamed Fort Independence in 1779 and is one of the oldest fortified sites in British North America. In the late 18th-century it served as the first state prison in Massachusetts.[2] The present structure, built between 1834 and 1851, is the eighth generation of forts. **taken from wikipedia**
It’s a really cool place to visit and I believe once memorial day arrives it is open for guided tours on the weekend.
When we got there it was already dark. We didn’t think anything of it because it was well lit enough for us to see the boys and each other. The run went pretty well until we got to the bridges. Like I said the other parts of the paved walkway around the island are well lit but as soon as you get to the first bridge it’s PITCH BLACK. You get a little light from planes passing over head but for the most part you can’t see shit. There were a few people walking on the first bridge with their families and such so that one wasn’t bad. The second one I was alone….but the dark was playing tricks on my mind (lol).
I was somewhat scared and at that point in the run Tony was a head of me so my son kept riding back to make sure I was ok. I ran and walked fast the entire time. Only great thing about the bridges were that they are over the harbor so the air as so fresh and crisp. Once we hit land (and light) the air was stifling. I feel like I did pretty well and I was super amped last night to get started on week 3 this morning.
I didn’t get to week 3 this morning because Tony and I decided to indulge in some wine that has been on top of our china cabinet for the past month. That wine put me on my ass. Wine coupled with me already being tired meant me sleeping through my alarm this morning. I believe it’s supposed to rain the next 3 days so I can’t start week three until Wednesday (boooo hisss). I am still a bit freaked out but I will do it and I will not let the fear get the better of me. This is the exact point that I stopped the last time.
Tonight I think I may get in some Tae Bo..it’s been a minute and I miss Billy Blanks sweat chocolate bald heat. lol
How was your weekend?

bwa ha haaaaa! I’m a Billy Blanks fan, too.
Congrats on the loss – that’s awesome!
That island looks (and sounds) really cool.
